Its a shame that Eastern Airlines no longer exists but wonderful that someone has taken the time to have an aircraft painted in Eastern livery and keeping the name alive.

When I was learning to fly the DC-7 was all the rage.

It really was wonderful--but for locals who just wanted to see the airplane and visit the Aviation Hall of Fame Museum (sponsor), it was a bit of a bust. She was hidden behind Signature Flight Services on Wehran Road. You could not access from the Museum or from any point unless you were prebooked for the rides. I know the associate director of the Museum and asked him--it was the FBO and the PA that insisted on the arrangement. Ground photography was restricted as well, and only one press representative (NY Daily News) was permitted to take photos! Big disappointment for the Museum which had advertised the appearance and counted on it to boost weekend attendance. The only way you could see the DC-7B was at at a distance from Route 46, or maybe on Industrial Road or from Little Ferry on takeoff.
